WHY IT COUNTERS MAGNUS
Wins the tempo
Ember Spirit clears waves and pressures the map much faster than Magnus, outpacing him in tempo and farm.
Dodges Reverse Polarity
Sleight of Fist or Fire Remnant let Ember Spirit avoid Reverse Polarity, so the big stun Magnus relies on becomes very inconsistent.
Hard to pin down
Even after a Skewer or Shockwave, Ember Spirit's remnants let him escape or re-engage on his own terms.
2 Puck Initiator · Disabler · Escape

WHY IT COUNTERS MAGNUS
Scouts the initiation
Illusory Orb scouts Magnus hiding in the trees, letting Puck warn allies and disrupt his initiation.
Counter-initiates
Even after Magnus lands Reverse Polarity and Skewer, Puck can counter-initiate with Waning Rift and Dream Coil.
No Skewer out of the coil
Dream Coil stops Magnus from Skewering away safely, leaving him open to follow-up disables.
